Lewes Neighbourhood Plan
EXHIBITION MATERIAL FROM 25th & 26th MAY 2017
UPDATE ON THE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN
The pre-submission six-week consultation period is now closed. Over 200 responses were received and these are now being analysed so that appropriate revisions and amendments can be made in the Lewes Neighbourhood Plan. Overall, the response to the draft version of the neighbourhood plan has been positive and no significant alterations have been requested.
A record all responses is being compiled in a consultation statement. This will also set out the proposed actions by Lewes Town Council and the Steering Group. This consultation statement will be made available as soon as it is ready.
Once revised, the neighbourhood plan will be submitted to the South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA), the local planning authority, with whom Lewes Town Council and the Steering Group have been working closely.
The submission version of the plan will then be published for a further six-week consultation period before being subject to an independent examination. This will be followed by a local referendum that will bring the plan into force, subject to a “yes” vote.
